I fear for the safety of this show unless the powers that be start to elevate their game. I have to conclude that the producers of BW underestimate the intelligence of their audience, otherwise they would surely strive for a more sophisticated and complex story.

They need desperately to heighten the tension. Jack Bauer, at his best, can keep me on the edge of my seat for 24 episodes. With BW, I have yet to use the edge of my seat. Sydney Bristow was up to her dimples in danger, danger of being killed, danger of being compromised, danger of losing her father, you name it. Jaime experiences precious little real danger. Oh sure, the professor got a little steamed at her this week, but he didn't send her to see McCullough (Alias). How can Eick and company expect people to care if there appears to be nothing at stake? More effort, please!

How about continuity? How about having a show where what happened last week affects what happens this week (i.e. if you lose the flash drive last week, you go after it this week).

I think ratings will continue to suffer unless someone in authority rethinks where this show is going and who it is meant to be targeting.

I hope they pull it together because I want BW and Michelle Ryan to succeed. I'm doing what I can by tuning in each week. The rest is outta my hands.

I guess any show's ratings are going to suffer if they're going up against the World Series!
I'n not too worried yet about the show getting cancelled, I get the impression NBC aren't going to give up on it that easily and like you say, appointing a new show runner isn't something that would be done to a series that is heading towards the axe.
Also, the show has been improving week on week and personally I've been really enjoying it, so I just hope it's given the opportunity to at least complete a whole season on air before any big decisions are made.
