The interface of the iris recognition system that Nathan was using to detect Victor. Apparently the only way to detect Victor – who keeps changing his identity - was for him to look into Jaime’s eyes. Jaime also used this method to ‘upload’ the ‘list’ to Nathan.

This amused me slightly – the picture of Jaime that Burket use for her file (above) is the exact same picture that Jaime found hidden in Will’s secret dossier on her (below):

…So, either the props department we’re being lazy/having an off-day/couldn’t be bothered to mock up a ‘new Burket’ photo of Jaime…or this is a clue suggesting that Burket we’re involved in Will’s ‘grooming’ of the unsuspecting bartender.

The ‘bad guy’ (Victor) uses the Apple iPhone upside down – is this a terrible production error/an actors oversight..or is this NBC giving Apple the finger over their recent split?? Hmm..who said Hollywood was petty? :P

In truth, I’m not sure how NBC would have gone about convincing Eick/Cahill to ‘abuse’ the iphone like that – then again, they interfere severely with it’s sister show, ‘Heroes’, in so much as the Nissan Versa (the shows sponsors) is, to my annoyance, referenced in every other episode! Would NBC stoop so low and so feebly to stick it to Apple by using their phone wrongly in an episode of BW? Watch this space for Apples comeback..I hear they will be having Peacock for Christmas..

Join me as we take a closer look at the episode that was : “The Education of Jaime Sommers”. In truth there’s not a great deal of ‘new’ investigating to be had from this episode (I mean we’ve seen the Bionic eye in action ten zillion times already!).

Not an important ’investigation’ as such, but I thought it was interesting how Jaime has agreed not to ‘hack herself’ and disable the optic relay feed that Nathan is using to monitor her actions. I would have liked to have been privy to the scene where Jonas persuades her that it’s in her best interests to have her cerebrum violated. Of course the incident in “Sisterhood”, where Corvus threatened Becca’s life, was probably what convinced Jaime that the optic relay stays on when she’s on assignment..much to the distaste of Nathan as he squirms his way through Jaime’s flirting.

Pity she had her bionic ringtone on vibrate..I know for a fact that people want it for their own personal cell phones! Will NBC cash in? By the way, I like how she has Burket listed as “The Office”. Yeah, it’s only ‘the Office’ Becca. Oh and another thing, Nathan’s right, you would think that with all that money they would equip her with an inbuilt phone!

A frustrated Nathan tires of Jaime ignoring his calls and so he scrambles her Bionic ear (inset) in order to get her undivided attention. It’s love I tells ya!

A bit later than usual, but here are the Bionic Investigations for episode 1.04 – “Face Off”: 

A shot of the newspaper the ’bad guys’ made Dr. Stevens hold up to the camera. I believe this was to prove the ‘date’ (of transmission) to the American authorities.

Jaime burns her hand and it heals at an exponential rate.

A nice shout out to ‘Hannibal’, as Burket cart away a restrained Sarah Corvus. All that’s missing is the mask seen on Hannibal Lecter in the image on the right.

Confirmation of the location that Stevens was being held – “Ciudad Del Este – Paraguay”

The image to the left shows Jaime using her Bionic eye to measure the speed of the fan in order to catch one of it’s blades and stop the rotation – seen in the image to the right.

Jaime uses her Bionic eye to great effect yet again, but seeing which buttons on the alarm system had the most recent finger prints. From the 4 digits Jaime gave him, Stevens then used this to work out the highest probability (most likely order of the alarm deactivation code).

A internal shot of the bullet which is nested inside Jaime’s body. We can see that instead of ‘rejecting’ the bullet like a human body, Jaime’s bionics are attempting to meld the bullet into her installations.

Regular readers will know that after each episode I post up ‘Investigations’ comprised of screencaps, analysis and possible clues from the episode. Here are the Investigations for “Sisterhood”:

Here we can see Papa Anthros running diagnostics on Sarah Corvus using his phone. It reports that her life expectancy erosion is at 80%.

Sarah Corvus uses her bionic eye to spy on Jaime and Becca as they dance to Rihanna’s “Breakin’ Dishes”.

Here we can see that Sarah Corvus’ sister (B), died in exactly the same way that Sarah almost killed Jaime (A). Is this method of ‘collision’ protocol in the ‘Bionic Community’ (i.e. did someone intentionally kill her sister) or did Sarah inflict the same method on Will (and Jaime) as a way to purge her own guilt?

Becca’s laptop shows the Sommers family tree – interestingly it is revealed that their grandmother died of a genetic defect. It is rumoured that she was once a Bionic subject herself and that Will Anthros targeted Jaime because of her unique genetic make-up being more suited to Bionic implants, than, say Sarah Corvus.

This also places a question mar over Becca’s suitability for such bionic installations, since she may also share this ‘defect’. Did Will have a dossier on her as well?

The above shows the inner workings of Jaime’s bionic eye, as she ‘hacks’ the optical interface and disables it, therefore preventing the Burket Group from tracking her. Note: the optical microchip (B) is wrapped around her cerebrum, Jonas said that if they were to surgically remove it she could become paralysed.

We see that Sarah is currently staying in ‘City Hostel’. Anthony must be residing nearby so that he can bring in Jaime if Sarah comes through with her end of the deal.

We see that the optical implant in Jaime’s brain is activated, as it relays via her bionic eye to the Burket Group Headquarters, who are able to see from Jaime’s point of view.

Anthony Anthros appears more ‘youthful’ in this episode (B), compared to the pilot episode (A). Does he have a fountain of youth? Is he using Anthrocytes to reverse the affects of aging? Watch this space..

Below are the Bionic Investigations for episode 1.02: “Paradise Lost”.

Here we can see Jaime wearing a ‘bird’ patterned top. It is believed that this episode was originally going to be called “Birds“, before a last minute decision changed it to “Paradise Lost”. That would have been a not so subtle reference.

Jaime was obviously feeling low after hearing her friends good news and perhaps felt that she had underachieved in her life. With her new ‘abilities’, she was perhaps fearful of once again failing to meet her potential.

Jaime’s optical interface comes online – the right eye make’s her right-side field of vision much clearer. She is able to tell the ‘soldier’ is lying to her by his pupils dilating. Cool.

‘A’ – Sarah explains to Jae that she believes that she was ‘Hacked’ and made to kill 14 Burket Scientists. ‘B’ – Sarah at the time of the Burket massacre, moments before she tells Jae “I’m not in control”. Evidently someone (a rival agency? The Sykes Group?) hacked into her Bionic implants and controlled her actions. She even shouts “Noo!” as she is ‘forced’(?) to attack Jae.

 After each episode I will be posting my Bionic Investigations – this will usually be 2-3 days after the episode has aired on NBC. These ‘Investigations’ will consist of screencaps and analysis of the key and subtle aspects of the episodes. Such investigations will hopefully shine light on the clues, ‘eastereggs’, themes from each episode and hopefully form the basis for discussion as well as acting as a source of information for fans of the show. See them as a way of digging a little deeper into the show. These ‘Investigations’ are based on my own interpretation and ‘opinion’ – I invite all fans of the show to offer your own opinion or corroboration via the comments section or by contacting me.

“Wolf Creek Biotech Research Facility” – Aka location of ‘Burket Facility’ where Sarah Corvus supposedly gets killed by Jae Lee.

This poster perhaps tells us a bit about Becca- she’s a bit of a rebel and appears to support several movements -perhaps including movements and rallies against those who wish to impose control over people? How ironic that her sister has had her civil liberties stripped from her and is now the ‘property’ (if you will) of Jonas Bledsoe and his Burket Group.

These are from Will Anthros’ Bio Ethics lecture - ‘A’ shows the victim of a car bombing – the various photos show how Bionic technology has healed what would have been certain deformity. ‘B’shows a physically impaired athlete who through bio-technology is able to achieve the ‘impossible’ and ‘C’ is a slide of a woman who has had breast enlargement  – Will notes that technology can make people look and feel ‘better’. Ultimately he poses the question of how far man should play God before it becomes unethical and dangerous..

‘A’ shows that Jaime barely even saw the truck before it collided into their car and ‘B’ is from after she has been installed with Bio technology and indicates that this has increased her capacity to pick and pull memories – just like a computer. It also shows that Sarah Corvus got out of the truck without even checking to see whether she did the job right and killed Will – something which she is to regret later..

‘A’ -”Wolf Creek Biotech Research Facility” – confirmation that this is actually the Burket Group head-quarters. A virtually dead Jaimeis taken to the same place where Sarah went haywire 3 years earlier, killing a string of Burket scientists..and the place where Jae thought he had killed her. ‘B’simply emphasises that the area is under strict surveillance and only approved personnel have access.

‘A’ shows the Jaime undergoing Bionic surgery – notice she has no legs (both crushed in the crash). ‘B’ shows some of the computer interfaces which helped to perform the operation.

More from Jaime’s improved memory (‘A’) has she recalls seeing the face of the truck driver (‘B’) - Sarah Corvus (who she is to later meet).

A reader wanted to know what this notice says – it simply shows the allowed visiting hours.

The man who sent Corvus to kill Will Anthros is stitching up his arm as if it’s something he does regularly – is he some-kind of Bionic Man? Perhaps he has just recently replaced his arm or inserted it with Antrasites?

This is interesting as Sarah asks the man whether she reminds him of “her” – to which he indicates that Sarah’s skin reminds him of ‘her’. To me this would suggest that perhaps Sarah is notthe first Bionic Woman afterall, and that this man had a partner who was installed with Bio-technology – possibly by Will – but it went wrong and she died? This would also help explain why he wants Will dead – revenge for what his science did to his loved one?

This rather cool, yet rather freaky image shows the Antrasites etc in Jaime’s legs (‘A’) and arm (‘B’). They are later invisible to the naked eye as presumably, like a lot of surgery, healing is required – only she heals mega-quick.

‘A’ – “You Failed Me“, written by the guy who sent Sarah Corvus on the mission to kill Will Anthros – he has discovered that Will survived the collision (though it begs the question of who told him – Jae perhaps?). ‘B’ shows that the guy then plans to get Will’s father, Anthony Anthros, out of jail by holding the security guard to ransom with the life of his wife. ‘C’ then shows the  same guy and, a now escaped, Anthony Anthros. The fact that he arranges for Anthony to escape creates a tangled web as we are left to wonder who’s side Anthony is on - will he turn on his son? We already know from his meeting with Jae that he despises the Burket Group and that he is the man who ‘made’ Sarah Corvus into the first ‘Bionic Woman..gone bad’.

Look familiar? Yup, I’m pretty sure that on some level this is a shout out to last years ‘Heroes’ Pilot. It’s almost identical as ‘A’ shows Peter Petrelli beginning to realise his potential as he prepares to test out his new flying ability for the first time. ‘B’ shows our Jaime doing exactly the same thing, as she begins to believe that she can actually leap across to the next building.

Just a note on the name of the prison Anthony was being held – “Blackwell Super-Max Prison”

Jaime’s sensory Bionic’s go online. ‘A’- we see the world from her point of view as her right eye makes her field of vision a lot clearer than her normal left eye. ‘B’ - she begins to ’overheat’ as she suffers from sensory overload and the interface of her imaging software begins to “lock”. ‘C’ & ‘D’ shows that her imaging software alerts her to impending dangers – “Potential Weaponry Threat”. How awesome!

‘A’ – We get a cool close-up of Jaime’s Bionic right eye..we can just about make out the optical implant. ‘B’- As her Bionic eye focuses in on Sarah Corvus, her digital interface pops up with a message saying: “ADR Target”. ‘C’ – we get a cool look at her “Rangefinder” as she scans the rooftops for Sarah Corvus.

Another location note – “Sonora Pass, CA“, this is where we last see an escaped Anthony Anthros and “the guy”.
