The NBC remake which was supposed to lead the network’s fall schedule could be a casualty by the end of the year after Wednesday’s outing pulled in a 4.0 rating/7 share, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research. It beat only “Gossip Girl” on The CW, and was pounded by “Criminal Minds” on CBS, “Private Practice” on ABC, and even “Kitchen Nightmares” on Fox.

The rating also was slightly lower than the 4.1/6 “Journeyman” got as a “Heroes” lead-out on Monday, and helped to drag down what was already a weak Wednesday schedule.

“Bionic Woman” seems to be on life support right now, and it’s not helping its cause by losing more and more viewers each week while other shows have stabilized — including “Heroes” which has disappointed fans so far this year. Time will tell how much longer NBC leaves the show on its schedule.

Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.

Hmm..seems fairly ’stable’ to me, considering last week was 4.1/6 – I think I’ll await the final ratings before getting too hysterical, thank you very much. Obviously the show needs to be gaining viewers but things are just starting to look good under Jason Cahill. All is not lost.

The latest Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research shows that “Bionic Woman” earned a 4.1 rating/6 share Wednesday night to help it finish tied for third with “Kitchen Nightmares” on Fox. While it was a busy night — the County Music Association was handing out awards, and “Criminal Minds” was just doing its regular thing by being on CBS — the audience is showing something quite significant: It’s less than half the total audience that showed up for “Bionic Woman’s” series premiere.

In the first week of the season, “Bionic Woman” pulled in an 8.4/13 in overnights, the best premiere of all the fall shows SyFy Portal is monitoring. However, it’s rating this week has already been beat by “Chuck” on Monday night, and came in about the same range as “Journeyman” — which many consider to be on the NBC chopping block.

That says a lot “Bionic Woman,” which was NBC’s most hyped new show of the fall season, and one that is losing viewers rapidly. With the numbers the way they are, and no end in sight to the current Writers Guild of America strike, it looks like the days of “Bionic Woman” are numbered.

“Bionic Woman” earned a 4.8 rating/7 share according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research, putting in not only a series low, but finishing almost last for the night (when removing The CW shows).

“Bionic” lost a good portion of its lead-in audience from the series premiere of “Phenomenon” in the 8 p.m. hour, which received a 5.2/8. That show finished well behind “Pushing Daisies” on ABC, which finished second to the World Series with a 6.2/10, it’s lowest rating of the season, but not by much.

Obviously not the results that we wanted to see but the World Series was playing on Fox so that may have played a big part in the BW ratings decline. However, NBC don’t appear to be pulling the plug anytime soon due to the hiring of new showrunner Jason Cahill.

Bionic Woman (8.52 mil) shorted out to the tune of another 1.6 mil, and is now down 37 percent from its debut.

Those are still decent figures but I’d be much happier if those numbers were going UP rather than down. The show is still definitely finding it’s feet but the last two episodes (despite glitches) did show overall promise. I think a lot of people are still prepared to give the show a chance and that’s a good sign.

Media people tabbed “Bionic Woman” as either a potential breakout or a potential bomb, but few probably expected it to do what it did last night. The NBC drama’s premiere outdrew the debut of ABC’s highly anticipated “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Private Practice” and nearly boosted NBC to No. 1 on a night where it has long struggled.

“Bionic” averaged a 5.5 adults 18-49 rating at 9 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, 8 percent better than “Practice” still-solid 5.1 rating.

NBC came very close to besting ABC on the night, averaging a 4.1 rating and 11 share to the latter’s 4.2/11. It was NBC’s top Wednesday premiere week rating since 2004 and was up 37 percent over its 3.0 rating for premiere week last year.

“Bionic,” which is now the fall’s top new premiere and NBC’s best Wednesday series premiere since “The West Wing” in 1999, built from its first half hour to its second among 18-49s, while “Practice” was flat.
