EX-EASTENDERS beauty Michelle Ryan yesterday slammed her former co-stars’ massive egos and their in-fighting that made her quit.
Michelle, 23, played Zoe Slater for five years but has now landed the lead role in US sci-fi series the Bionic Woman.
She said: “It wasn’t a happy family all of the time. It was partly people trying to get into the limelight. And there were leaks, people selling stories. It was like: ‘Who can I trust?’”
These things are sometimes mis-quoted, so I think we should treat it with a pinch of salt. However, if she did say these things then i’d think she must had reason to, as I wouldn’t think Michelle was the type so reveal these things unless it was the way she really felt. Also, anyone who watches Eastenders would know that quite a few of it’s ‘stars’ do have big ego’s – perhaps because some of them feel that they’re celebrities in their own right? I guess it’s not as bad these days, but it has been known for some of Britain’s soap stars to have high opinions of themselves.
She also insists she won’t strip for lads’ mags like FHM, which once named her the world’s fourth sexiest woman. “If you’re taking your clothes off, I don’t see how people will cast you in serious stuff.”
I hope that she’s true to her word on this, because she really doesn’t need to strip for lads’ mags. With her career now really taking off, she’d be better off thinking of the bigger picture and picking and choosing the right opportunities.
