It makes the whole Katee Sackhoff situation moot if there is nothing for her to come back to anyway. Will MR be able to sublet her apartment in Vancouver? Only time will tell.

It was a fleeting role, but I hope it was enough to get MR’s foot in the door in the American TV market. I would like to see her answer her critics by finding a successful (and popular) role in the near future, and one that let’s her use her natural accent.

Early season cancellation is a fact of life for many bigger names than MR. “Alias” was the best show EVER, yet Victor Garber’s show “Justice” was mercifully axed in the early going as has been Michael Vartan’s snoozefest “Big Shots”. For these guys, it’s just on to the next show, no biggie. Let’s hope it’s just on to the next show for MR, assuming, of course, that the cancellation of BW becomes official.

[…] Woman has been canceled, since so many people have been prematurely announcing that for weeks now. Roco has the scoop on the most recent rumors over at bionic-blog if you are interested. The show started off so strong, as the Entertainment Weekly photo here […]

I sincerely hope it is just a rumour :( I have to agree with Margie over at Watchingbionic woman why is it that since the show began everyone has indeed used it as its favourite whipping post???

I still live in hope that the “rumoured” relaunch still happens but fear that NBC have decided to cut their losses and will just move on…truly sad that the show will not reach its potential:(

I’m hoping the same thing too Page48. If the rumours are true it’s sad but not surprising. The show was troubled from the start. However i would love to see it come back as i kept watching in the hope that it would improve.

Hi

The series should continue but with changes in the scripts.

They were mediocre.

Bionic woman must have a strong hand in its course and we see more “bionica”.

Sorry for my engish =)

BW has NOT been cancelled, NBC have announced they still intend to let it run until the 13th episode:

Gary’s right, we got word today from an insider that the show has not been canceled. Spread the word … this is just another false Bionic Woman rumor.

It looks like it was a rumour - but I’d like to echo the sentiments of Page 48 and Neena in that, whatever happens with BW, I hope that MR has shown enough promise to continue making strides in Hollywood. Obviously I hope she’s on BW for many years to come - who knows, they might surprise us further!

Bichol, I agree about the scripts - let’s hope the remaining 5 are so great that the actors have something to work with, something which might actually impress NBC so much that the series gets a 2nd season. We can but dream!

The Bionic Woman is my favorite tv show currently I used to watch “House of Payne” at the beginning but Tyler Perry started to mess things up during the course of the season with that show so the Bionic Woman was breath of fresh air. It would be very disappointing to see NBC cancel the show because they aren’t giving it a chance and this writers strike needs to end! If NBC doesn’t want the show I hope another network picks it up.

I agree Robert - NBC should give the show a chance, and who knows perhaps BW would have gone on to better things had the strike not interrupted it’s season (although unlikely). Eitherway, I feel that it’s in NBC’s interests to continue with the show and perhaps retool it completely. Everyone knows that the premise is there..all we need now is a show to match it!
Interesting suggestion about another network picking it up - I don’t think that’s crossed my mind at all. Does anyone know of this kind of thing happening, with any great success, before?

Recently I’ve been watching Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” for the first time. Briefly, FF was a FOX show cancelled after about 11 episodes airing. It was shopped around to other networks but none had the brains to pick it up.

It was great TV and it boggles the mind, given the crap that makes it to air every fall, that the other networks wouldn’t trip over themselves to take advantage of FOX’s stupidity.

In fact, it took an organized fan revolt to resurrect the series 3 years later in the form of the very entertaining movie “Serenity”.

The point I guess I’m trying to make is that network execs are either clueless or they are afraid of their own shadows (or both). If FOX dumps a show, it’s hard to picture ABC having the jam to pick it up and run with it.

It has been done, though. “Taxi” ran on both ABC and NBC. I’m sure there are other examples.
