- Death – Death is a prominent theme in the show. From the outset Sarah Corvus (for example) has both seen and committed murder, as a soldier and as a ‘Bionic Woman’. Some might argue that the human part of her ‘died’ when they made her ‘Bionic’.

- Ethics - concerns morals and values of a given situation. Right and Wrong, Good Vs Evil and Responsibility are also aspects of Ethics. The ‘Bionic Woman’ covers hotbed of ethical situations, ranging from violation of human rights, science, research, civil liberties, the application of technology - to name only a few..
- Evolution – Is the process of change/advancement due to the impact of the changing environment. Evolution is often through genetic advancement, however Bionic Woman’ explores the notion of evolution through ‘Bionics’ - which have made Jaime ‘better, faster, stronger’ – but at what cost?

- Fighting -We have already seen Jaime go head to head with Nemesis Sarah Corvus, no doubt more battles lay ahead. In preparation for the series, Michelle Ryan trained using the Israeli fighting style, Krav Maga.
- Freewill- Jaime’s freewill (or choice) was taken from her when Will performed the Bionic operation which saved her life and made her Bionic. Both Ruth Truewell and Jonas Bledsoe make reference to giving Jaime the illusion of choice, whilst keeping her as their property.

- Trust – With so much to protect and even more to lose Trust appears to be one of the overlapping themes in the show, particularly for Jaime.

- Weakness – A Bionic Woman weak? The fine line between strength and weakness, machine and humanity will be a prominent one. Sarah Corvus has replaced some of her own body parts for Bionic ones because she wants to strip away all of the parts that are “weak”.
