Where Is Crystal Lowe?

Well..where is she? She was supposed to be playing the role of Jaime’s best friend, yet we haven’t seen her yet (though I do have my suspicions she appeared ‘briefly’ in the first episode?). Since being interviewed back in September there’s been no definite sighting of her on the show - instead some other actress has stepped into the role as Jaime’s ‘best friend’. Has she joined Mae Whitman on the Bionic Scrapheap? Did she leave the Bionic nest when Glen Morgan departed? She had previously appeared in Glen Morgan’s “Black Christmas”, so perhaps she left when he did?

What we do know is that she hadn’t actually started filming at the time of this interview and hadn’t even received any scripts yet. So unfortunately, five episodes deep, it looks like we wont be seeing Crystal in Bionic Woman..

Let us all take a moment to mourn the tragedy of this missed opportunity of seeing another hottie on BW.

Good question, Roco. Maybe she quit after it was announced Isaiah Washington was joining the cast.

lol, stranger things have happened. But the thing is, she was onboard after Isaiah was cast. Do you think that Glen Morgan drafted her in and once he left there was no plan for her? I was looking forward to seeing her..;)

I agree Roco, she was probably another early production casualty like Mae Whitman although I guess it’s possible she could still appear - but with the amount of cast, crew and story changes the show has had so far it seems unlikely.

On a side note, I actually really like the actress who plays Jaime’s friend Carly (the one who came to return Jaime’s shoes in the episode the other week). I hope we see a lot more of her!

I just watched the start of the first episode again, and I think you’re right Roco, Crystal Lowe did briefly appear (I think!). I believe she is one of Jaime’s friends who come to her apartment to babysit Becca while she goes on her date with Will. She’s the one who says “I brought pheromones!”.
This is about 5 minutes into the episode and is the only time she appears.
I’m pretty sure it’s her.

I think you would have to be a pretty well established (read: wealthy) actor to walk away from a massively-hyped US network TV show because IW was hired for a “five show arc”, regardless of his comments.

Crystal Lowe would not fall into that category, in fact I’ve never heard of her. If she’s willing to turn down work because of a co-worker’s attitude, then best of luck to her in pursuing a career in any field. So, I’m inclined to think there is another reason why she remains unseen.

Jaime’s friends have no scenes with Washington, anyway (so far).

Ah, thanks for confirming Bob! I thought that might have been her. It’s a shame if that’s her only contribution to the show. I think that Carly is ‘OK’ but she hasn’t really made an impression on me so far..no fault of the actress, it’s just that she hasn’t had much to do as of yet. Still, she’s had nearly as much screentime as that ‘Stitches’ guy..whatever happened to him? lol.

Ryan, I think Page48 is right, although it’s possible that she may have left over Isaiah, I don’t think that she would waste an opportunity to become established on a show like BW. Especially not since she arrived with the knowledge that he was already on the show. I hope we do find out exactly why they decided not to use her though.
